Banned from MORE pubs than we have been invited back to!!.....

The Life O'Riley have been delivering Irish music to often reluctant audiences since 2003 and during this time we have made many friends and had some cracking nights!

It would be fair to say, that The Life O'Riley could be compared to Marmite!!...You are either gonna love it, or you are going to hate it....but either way, you are NOT likely to forget the taste of it in a hurry!!

In the nanny state in which we now reside, we tend to buck many of the Health and Safety Trends which have been forced upon us, and take FULL responsibility for our own stupidity should any of us fall off the table which we are dancing on at the time

How would we best describe ourselves?...Take a dash of The Pogues at their drunken best, add a pinch of The Dubliners, a couple of splashes of The Waterboys, one or two teaspoons of The Saw Doctors and a heaped ladel of Flogging Molly and tip the whole lot into a blender!....Hit the ON button and STAND WELL BACK!!!

The Life O'Riley are not just an Irish band, we pride ourselves on being an experience. The Life O'Riley are perfect for the night which you don't want people to forget in a hurry!!

What can you expect? Well, dont be expecting a Fiddly-Diddly-Dee band, as we are about as far removed from Fiddly-Diddly-Dee as you can get - Though we can do Fiddly-Diddly-Dee if we put our minds to it.

We kind of aspire to be unconventional in what we do, we have never played a gig, expecting to be invited back and we are uncompromising in our delivery of a cracking nights entertainment!!

Irish music is unpredictable, often chaotic, occasionally moving, but always energetic!! That just about adequately sums the band up!!

We recently took a good hard look at how we do things, and what we are about....and we are looking to move more towards what you would have traditionally found had you gone into any number of Irish bars, 10-15 years ago, before the government killed the industry with taxes and smoking bans...

You most probably would NOT have found a drum kit, or a bass guitar, but you would have found fiddles, mandolins, guitars and enthusiastic voices raising the craic until the early hours. THAT is what we have set ourselves as the challenge....To deliver THAT kind of performance, often with just the 3 musicians. Occasionally, however we will decide to use drums and bass, but we have proven we can do it without so ....In a nutshell the band, can be 3 people, it can be 4, 5 or 6 people and  occasionally a 7 or 8 piece, dependent upon who is pissed and who is in prison!!

The number of musicians is neither here nor there, as you are going to get the same drunken, crazy, boisterous fun, regardless....
